EASTSIDE Rock Art Gallery                                Hit Counter

The photos in the collection below are sampled from sites located on the Eastern side of the Big Island of Hawai'i. Pu'uloa is probably the largest and most accessible gallery in East Hawai'i. Located in Puna inside the Volcanoes National Park, it is an extensive and well preserved site hosting an inventoried population of almost 30,000 ki'i pohaku units. [Requires short .7 mile hike; Morning is best, allow minimum 1.5 hours-get current weather forecast-worth the effort!] Area threatened by lava flows and may eventually disappear by ever-expanding and continual volcanic activity.
